Chrisoula Kanakis passed away at home and in the company of loved ones on August 20, 2021. She was 78 years of age. She leaves behind her husband Nektarios, their children Nektaria (spouse Joseph Meyer) and Demetrios (spouse Tina Yuan) and grandchildren Nektarios and Cristianos. She also leaves behind countless friends and family whom she has touched with her warm nature and infectious laugh.

She was born and grew up on the island of Aegina in Greece before moving to Calgary, Alberta in 1969 where she married Nektarios and had their two children. The family moved to California in 1976 and have lived there since.

She was a kind hearted and humorous real life bionic woman who will always be remembered as a person of faith with a passion for life who loved to laugh, sing and dance. She will be forever missed. May her memory be eternal.

Trisagion service will be at 7pm on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in San Francisco. Funeral service will be at 10am on Monday, August 30, 2021 held at The Greek Orthodox Memorial Park Chapel. Interment will follow.
