Dimitra Spyropoulos was born on February 25, 1917 in Pallandion Tripoli, Greece. She was the daughter of Athanasios and Kostadina Harbis. At the age of 3 she was adopted and raised by her aunt and uncle Dimitrios and Eugenia Valaris. Our beloved mother and grandmother at the age of 103, peacefully passed away on March 1, 2020 in Grand Terrace, California surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

In 1934 she married her late husband Christos Spyropoulos, who was also from the same village, Pallandion. Together they had 8 children (2 have passed, Dimitrios I and Soteria), 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. In 1974 they moved to America to be with family, and they were married for 63 years. Dimitra was the matriarch of the family, she was loved by all and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by her children, Eugenia, Anastasia (Lex), Georgia, Frederiki (Athanasios), Vasiliki (Basilios), Dimitrios (Ioanna), her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Trisagion service will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 6:00pm. The funeral service will be on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 10:00 am. Both services will be held at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church, 1035 Inland Center Drive, San Bernardino, CA 92402. Interment at Montecito Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Prophet Elias Church in honor of her name.
