George Thomas Hadjis passed away at the age of 73 on January 20, 2023 in his home in San Clemente, CA surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with esophageal cancer. George was born on May 6, 1949 to Estelle and Thomas Hadjis in Astoria, NY. After George graduated St. Demetrios Parochial School he went on to earn his BA from Pace University, his Masters in Guidance and Counseling from St. John's University and finally his MBA from Pepperdine University.
He started his first job as a teacher at St. Demetrios Parochial School in Jamaica, NY where he met the love of his life Dora. George always called his children his greatest achievement in life.
His career took some twists and turns trying out different businesses, but interestingly always partnering with family. At age 40, and after he finished his MBA, the entrepreneur in him, decided with his brother John and Dora, to venture into the restaurant business. George is the founder and CEO of Oggi's Pizza & Brewing Co. and Left Coast Brewing Co. As the family business grew George's nephew Shawn and children Estella and Tommy joined the organization.
Not only was George supportive in business, he was such a loving, sensitive, thoughtful and fun person. He loved smoking ribs and cooking pizzas in the backyard for his family and tending to his amazing flowers and garden.
George is survived by his wife Dora, brother John, children Estella and Casey and Tommy and Wendy, grandchildren Adrianna, Joey George, Alexandra, Morgan Paul and Blake. His love for his family and friends will never be forgotten.
