Jim
Christides
June 15, 1940 – September 11, 2022
Jim Christides was born June 15, 1940 and lived until September 11, 2022. He is survived by his wife Yiota, his children George and Angie and his grandchildren Dimitri and Illiana. Jim was born in Kaloskopi, Greece and after spending a few years traveling the world in early adulthood in the merchant marines he immigrated to California in the 1960s. He was an incredibly hardworking family man. Although he worked in restaurants, he loved to work with his hands and he was a particularly skilled builder. For many years, after his normal 12-hour workday he would start working on a construction project. He loved to laugh and crack jokes and be surrounded with family and friends. He made raki every year and he had so much fun in every part of the process; from tracking down the grapes to about 60 days later when he and his lovely wife would throw a party for all their friends and enjoy trying this year's batch. Jim's charm and wit were unmatched by anyone. He had the biggest heart and the warmest smile. He always said that he wanted to die standing up and healthy. On Sunday he did exactly that as he walked himself to his bed and took his final breaths.
