Stella
Tripodis
January 25, 1932 – May 2, 2023
Stella "Λιλίκα" Tripodis, who passed away on May 2, 2023. She was the devoted wife of Nikolas Κ. Tripodis, who preceded her in death in December of 2016. Stella was a loving mother to Dino (Catherine) Tripodis, John (Helene) Tripodis, Georgia (Aris Katopodis) Tripodes, and the proud grandmother of Erini Sappho Katopodis and Stelanie, Niko, Orion, and Aeson Tripodis.
Our mother was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was incredibly strong and faced every challenge in her life with the courage and dignity that her Ikarian origins gifted her in abundance. Stella was an avid storyteller that could keep you engaged for hours, full of wit, humor, intrigue, and Ikarian hospitality. Her famous "Come over for coffee!" is known by all who came across her.
Stella was a source of inspiration with her impeccable skills and unbeatable Greek coffee fortune-telling. Year-round her garden was full of vibrance and vitality, her kitchen was bursting with bread, sweets, and outstanding traditional dishes. Spending summers on the island of Ikaria, Greece, with her husband Nikola was an annual tradition. Always energetic and productive her later years were dedicated to illustrating hundreds of coloring books for her grandchildren as keepsakes. Known for her nightingale voice, Stella would sing her favorite Greek songs until the end of her life.
Stella remained a cherished part of her close-knit Ikarian and South Pasadenian communities her entire life. She was a woman of strong faith who instilled in us the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right, a true role model we will always look up to. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
You will always be in our hearts. Rest in peace Μάνα μας Γλυκιά!
