Alex was born in Piraeus, Greece 3/27/31. He was doted upon by his parents as the eldest of four siblings. He began working at the age of 10 to help support his family during the war.
He later attended four years of trade tech school in Greece and his passion was machine design.
He served in the Greek army as a hand to hand combat coach.
Alex was introduced to the love if his life by one of his cousins when he was almost 30. They were married that year and had their daughter one year later.
They came to the United States in 1969, and he became a citizen in 1976, it was a proud day.
Alex was a passionate man who loved fiercely and believed that family and friendship bonds were paramount.
He was a master craftsman and all things were possible in his hands. God blessed his heart his mind and his hands so that everyone and every thing he touched was better for the contact.
He will be remembered lovingly by all of the hearts that he touched. He modeled fatherhood, manhood and humanity for all of us. His crafts will continue in the hands of those that learned by his side over these many years. He lives on in all of us who continue to benefit from his wisdom.
He is survived by his beautiful wife of 51 years, Stavrula, his grandsons Niko (18), Christian (20) and his children Julie and Dino. Trisagion service will be held Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 7:30pm, and the Funeral Service will be Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:30am, both held at Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church, 788 No. Rosemead Blvd. Pasadena, CA. Interment will follow at Rose hills cemetery.
