LIFE'S HAPPINESS

By: Aliki Tsevdos
If you discover life is not exactly as you think it ought.
Be not dismayed and fear ye not, for all the things you haven't got.
Don't waste your time trying to find that idiotic place sublime
That blissful state called happiness, where there's no pain or weariness.
Happiness is the place designed for the human race
It all begins when you're first born and ends when Gabriel blows his horn.
All life in its' entirety complete with joy and agony make up the state of happiness
That's all it is, no more, no less.

There's no need to philosophi, if with a few rules you live by.
These rules herewith I now submit, and here they are therefore to wit.
Eat when you're hungry, drink when you thirst.
Don't strike when you're angry, laugh till you burst.
Love all things, but never lust.
Fight back like hell, and cry when you must.

Rise when you stumble, no shame to be humble.
When you've done your best, take time to rest.
And though to prosper is your aim, don't strain yourself, it's all in vain.
For to gain is not how much you get, instead, the friends that you have met.
And in conclusion, I hereby state, no matter what your luck or fate.
As long as you are still around, it sure beats being in the ground.
