Obituary

Anastasia "Ann" Serafia Karavantes, passed away peacefully June 25, 2015 in Laguna Niguel, California. She was born on the 4th of July, 1927 in San Diego, California to Gust A. and Serafia Glavas. She graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Peace in San Diego. She married George A. Karavantes on March 17, 1951. He preceded her in death in 2002.

Ann was very active in her Church at Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox in San Diego. She was past President of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society for many years, and a member of the Daughters of Penelope. She was a property manager and was involved in the community for many years. She loved baking with her mother in preparation for the Greek Festivals. Ann was a great "Mom" and "Yiayia" and loved her family. And she loved life. She will be missed.

She is survived by her dedicated daughter, Connie A. Salamy, and loving grandson, Christian Salamy, both of Laguna Niguel, California. She is also survived by her brother, Theodore Glavas of El Cajon, California and nieces; Christa Glavas, of El Cajon, California, and Stasia Fraide, of Florida.

Trisagion service will held Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 10:30 am, both held at Saint Basil Greek Orthodox Church, 27129 Calle Arroyo #1803, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675. Interment will be later that day at 2:00 pm at Greenwood Cemetery, San Diego, California.

Contributions may be made to Saint Basil Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund in loving memory of Anastasia Glavas Karavantes. May Her Memory Be Eternal.
