Anita Hoger, of Anaheim, was born on October 12, 1930, to Albert and Frieda (Pahl) Schieman in Chicago, Illinois. She was baptized on October 19, 1930, and confirmed in the faith on April 2, 1944. Anita graduated from Concordia High School in 1948, after which she attended Concordia Teacher's College (River Forest, Illinois), earning her teaching certificate in 1951. On June 22, 1952, Anita was united in marriage to Charles "Chuck" Hoger in Chicago, Illinois. They moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she began her lifetime roles of wife and mother. She taught in St. Louis and Sarasota (Florida). She worked in the placement office of Concordia Teacher's College (Seward, Nebraska) and worked as an administrative assistant at Chapman University (Orange, California). Anita loved to travel the world with family and friends. She also participated in many church activities and groups at St. John's Lutheran Church in Orange. Anita entered her eternal home on April 7, 2022, in Anaheim, California at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 26 days. She is survived by her beloved husband, Chuck Hoger; brother Ken (Dorothy) Schiemann; children, David Hoger, Stephen (Karen) Hoger, Tim (Kristina) Hoger; grandchildren Mark (Emily) Hoger, Amy (Aaron) Podschun, Margaret Lawson, Matt (Isabel) Hoger; 7 great grandchildren. Anita was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Carol (Bob) Martin.

Funeral service at 10am on Friday, April 22, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 185 S. Center Street, Orange, CA 92866. Reception following the funeral at the Walker Hall.
