Anthony
Bonaparte
July 18, 1964 – January 10, 2021
Anthony Bonaparte was born on July 18, 1964 in Long Beach, California to his parents Alex and Crissi and brother Chris. Tony graduated from Wilson High School and remained in the Long Beach and Lakewood area his entire life until his struggle with cancer ended on January 10, 2021.
Preceded in death by his mother, father, and wife Donna. He is survived by his daughter Caitlin from his first marriage, as well as his brother, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and life-long friends.
Although raised in the United States, his family roots in Ikaria and Vartholomio Greece were imprinted on him by his parents and extended family. His childhood was a blend of a traditional Greek-American upbringing in a bilingual house, serving as an altar boy, and attending Greek School along with the classic Southern California lifestyle of surfing, fishing, hunting and motorcycles with his close circle of friends.
With his distinctive resonant voice and off-the-wall sense of humor, he was charming and entertaining with people yet thorough and precise in his actions.
His meticulous nature allowed him to excel in his 28 year career at Home Depot where starting in the Building Materials Department, he rose to General Manager of West Coast Distribution. Home Depot allowed him the opportunity to travel frequently, especially to Guam and Hawaii, make close friends, and even meet his wife Donna. He profoundly loved Home Depot and his Home Depot family who supported him not only through his own illness but through the loss of his wife five years earlier.
He loved cars, the antique swap meet, and anything near the ocean, but none of it compared to simply spending time with Caitlin, his pride and joy.
Although he had been seriously ill, his passing was still unexpected.
He was one of a kind.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, his funeral will be private. Friends are welcome to pay their respects at his interment at 1:00pm on Monday, February 8th, 2021 at Forest Lawn Cypress, CA.
