Barbara
Tsetseris
September 12, 1947 – February 16, 2026
Barbara Tsetseris touched many lives during her time with us. She was a loving person who made friends easily - wherever she went, a new connection would spark. We will always remember Barbara for the loving, free-spirited, compassionate, and loyal person she was.
Barbara was a loving daughter to Louis and Katherine Stavros, a devoted mother to Louis, Koula, Katherine, Anastasia, and Stassi, and an incredible Yiayia to Nicky, Andrew, Nikolett, Angeliki, Eleftheria, Sevasmia, and Leftheris. She was born in Long Beach, California on September 12, 1947, and attended Wilson High School, where she passionately cared for handicapped children - an early reflection of her kindness and compassion. She later attended California College of Commerce, maintaining a 4.0 GPA, and eventually became a chairside dental assistant.
Barbara was the kind of gentle person who made it easy for others to open up. Whenever someone needed advice or simply a person to listen without judgment, she was often the first person they thought of. Life's simple pleasures brought her great joy-watching her grandchildren grow into the young men and women they are today, cherishing her children whom she adored, and seeing the lives they created for themselves.
She loved being a mother, grandmother, homemaker, and cook. Greek music, festivals, dancing, antiques, jewelry, and football all brought her happiness - especially cheering for the Bruins. Barbara also loved singing in the choir at The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Long Beach and Saint John Greek Orthodox Church in Anaheim. Time with family and friends always meant more to her than material success.
Barbara truly lived to be a Yiayia and loved her grandchildren with boundless enthusiasm. She was selfless, warm, and carefree - someone anyone could easily get along with. Deeply dedicated to her church, her heritage, and her culture, few people cherished being Greek as much as Barbara did. She put her heart into the little things and was continually an inspirational and insightful person.
In closing, Barbara Tsetseris was a beautiful soul. While we mourn her loss, she showed us - through countless small moments - how life should be lived. Conversations with her always left you laughing or learning something new. Within her family and friends, we each carry a small piece of her. She would want us to remember her with smiles rather than tears, to remember her at her best, and to live life to its fullest.
The funeral was at 10am on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Saint John Greek Orthodox Church in Anaheim, CA, interment at Forest Lawn in Cypress, CA.
The 40 day memorial will be at 10am on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 41132 Guava Street, Murrieta, CA 92562.
