Charles George
Trumpowsky
March 14, 2023
Charles George Trumpowsky, 87, a long-time resident of Santa Ana and Orange County, passed away on March 14, 2023 surrounded by his close family. Charlie or Chuck, as he was known, the son of William "Bill" and Theresa Trumpowsky, was born in Little Falls, New York and raised in Dolgeville, New York.
Shortly after High School, Charlie joined the Army to serve his country in the Korean War with the 855th Engineer Aviation Battalion. After the war Charlie settled first in Los Angeles and then Orange County, graduated from Cal Poly Pomona, worked in various professions, ultimately he settled in the aerospace industry and eventually retired from Boeing after 30 years of service in 2007.
Charlie was an avid hunter and enjoyed the great outdoors, telling jokes, skiing, photography, traveling, playing the lottery, and spending time with his friends and loved ones. Though he never married, Charlie was a generous soul, devoted, and always willing to lend a helping hand; for these qualities he became a member of the family to many, and known to some as their beloved Uncle Chuck.
Charles is survived by his niece Debbie Sisto, nephews Douglas and Eric Trumpowsky, and their families (Rochester); Cousin Patricia & husband Randy Walsh (Raleigh); close family friends Don & Mary Gabriel (San Antonio), their sons Marc (Boston) & Jason (Brea) and their families; and various friends and family. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother.
At this time no memorial services are scheduled, however please consider a donation in remembrance of Charlie to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, www.rmef.org/donate/memorials-honoraria/ or Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Inc., 5705 Grant Creek Road Missoula, MT 59808.
