Christos "Chris"
L. Carnakis
January 26, 1970 – January 9, 2022
On Sunday, January 9, 2022, Christos L. "Chris" Carnakis, California civil attorney of Beligan & Carnakis, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 51.
Chris was born on January 26, 1970 in Bellflower, California to Leonidas and Filomila Carnakis. Shortly after, his family moved to the Hollywood area of Los Angeles. An excellent student, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in 1995 from USC in Political Science with a minor in Law as well as Sociology. In 2000 he completed his degree in law at Southwestern Law School and was sworn into the California Bar Association in 2002. Chris loved the law and his twenty year dedication to his law practice was evident to anyone who was lucky enough to know him.
Chris was many things: true gentleman, natural scholar, sharp intellect, phenomenal lawyer, wise counselor, cigar lover, nature enthusiast and loyal friend. Above all else he was devoted and loving to his family and friends. The word "no" was not a word he said easily, whether it be his family (immediate and extended), friends, partners, or clients. He always had his door open for friends and family to have a meal or a drink at his favorite pub or go for a drive out of town.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Leonidas. He is survived by his mother, Filomila, and his brother, James "Jim". His love for family will forever sustain his memory in our hearts. May his memory be eternal.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1324 S. Normandie Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90006. The burial will take place at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills shortly following the funeral.
