Constantine Elie
Frangoudis
November 21, 1965 – September 10, 2022
Constantine Elie Frangoudis was born in Beirut, Lebanon to the parents of a Greek father named Elie Frangoudis and a French Lebanese mother named Jacqueline Doche Frangoudis. He passed away on September 10, 2022 at the age of 56. He was the second oldest of 6 children: Salwa, Constantine, George, Carla, Paul and Tony. Constantine was active in the Greek Orthodox church, school plays, sports, and loved American films. Constantine and his Dad would share films together and they were also very passionate about music. He would help his father make drums out of goatskin called Darbuka. While Constantine was younger, he attended Greek school in Lebanon where he learned to speak and write the language as well as enjoy cooking Greek and Lebanese food. He also learned Arabic and French at a very young age. He was highly active and ambitious as a child and equally sharp minded. At the age of 16 Constantine had the opportunity to meet the Lebanese president, Pierre Geneyel who was from the Phalangist party geared towards Lebanese Christians which were focused on the need of a strong Lebanese state. During the Lebanese civil war, Constantine would transport victims while working for Cafe Daniel. He would borrow the company van to rescue these victims and transport them to safety. He was only 20 years old at the time.
At the age of 21, he moved to Greece with his brother George to escape war inflicted Lebanon. He managed restaurants in Kifisa, Greece. He rented a room for a lady that had connections to the U.S., who told him to pursue his dreams of coming to America. In 1988 he arrived in California and rented a room with a Lady named Ana Logothetis. Elizabeth would visit Ana while Ana grieved her husband's passing, helped her with shopping and took her to Saint Katherine's. It was through Ana where Constantine and Elizabeth met, fell in love and got married. Constantine worked as a truck driver, real estate manager and later became a property investor while working as an Electrical Journeyman for IBEW in 2004.
Three years into the marriage, Constantine & Elizabeth had their first child, Constantine Alexander who was born in 1992, followed by Nathaniel Dimitrius in 1995, and JohnPaul Elie in 1998. The family loved being together always and were very active at Saint Katherine's during childhood. Dad provided and was there for us in any endeavor we pursued. Our mother and father made sure to share the variety of cultures that this world had to offer. At one point, the whole neighborhood block knew us and we knew them. Dad was always into learning new things with us and having us share our interests with him. Some of the most fondest memories came from traveling and being with family together.
In his 56 years of life, Dad accomplished much of his goals and dreams. His biggest dream however, was that of his family. He sacrificed everything to provide us with a better life. Dad cherished all the memories we made and shared together. He was filled with compassion and pure love until the end. May your memory be eternal Dad, please tell JohnPaul how much we are proud of him, and how much we love and miss him. We are happy you are together again, but you will be dearly missed. Until we meet again in the next life. We love you always and forever.
Trisagion is at 5pm on Sunday, September 18, 2022 and the funeral service is at 10am on Monday, September 19, 2022. Both services are at Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Redondo Beach, California.
