Obituary

Demetrios Konstantinos Pantazis, was born October 10, 1940 in Patras, Greece to Nicolitsa Karaboukis Pantazis and Konstandino Demetriou Pantazis. He passed away at the age of 76 on July 11, 2017 in Pasadena, California with his loving family with him.

Jim was married to Eleni Venetia Pantazis on December 7, 1975, they were married for almost 42 years. He was involved at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Los Angeles, and was the owner of Dino's Chicken and Burgers for many years, where he became very well known in the community.

Dad loved to fish, work and spend time with his family and friends. Some of his favorite sayings: "Same stuff, different day" and "Fight, Fight, Fight, Never give up!"

Jim was the patriarch of his family, and he made everyone feel safe, protected, happy and secure. He always put his wife, children, and grandchildren first before anything else. Their happiness was his happiness. Sitting and talking with his friends, customers and family brought him great joy. He was the most selfless person and a role model to all who crossed his path. Everyone that knew him could feel his grace, generosity, strength and love. He was tough, yet the most gentle man. Helping everyone he could and never saying no. His generosity can be compared to none. He was a blessing and an angel in this world, who lived his life on his terms and never took no for an answer. He was THE best. A fighter. Until his last breath he fought so hard. The epitome of a man who was strong, brave and cherished who will always be remembered and never be forgotten.

He is survived by his wife Eleni, children; Nicolitsa Demetriou Pantazis-Pitsos & George Pitsos, Maria Demetriou Pantazis-Defterios & Christos Defterios, Konstantina Demetriou Pantazis-Andrews & Paul Alex Andrews, and Aikaterinh Athina Pantazis & Jason Nichols. He is also survived by grandchildren: Stavroula Andrianna Pitsos, Demetrios (Mimi) Athanasios Pitsos, Stefanos Defterios, Athanasios Defterios, Alexandros Andrews, Demetrios (Jimmy) Andrews. Siblings: John Pantazis, Eleni Koudanis, and George Pantazis. Other family members: Eugenia Koudanis, John Koudanis, Dino George Pantazis, Dino John Pantazis, Theodora and Demetrios Togias.
