Elaine Hrones Thomas was born on June 13, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois and passed away on January 26, 2018. She was 89 years old. She grew up in Chicago, Illinois to Gus and Sophia Hronopoulos where she lived until moving to Los Angeles after she was married to her husband, Jimmie S. Spiro Thomas who preceded her in falling asleep and going to the Lord in 1980.  Music was her passion. She loved singing, dancing and the Greek culture. She was a member of the International Committee of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, owned her own employment agency for many years, and was involved in the Greek community.

She had a big heart – even as a child she would bring home cats and dogs that seemed to not have anywhere to call home. She was always there for her family and for her friends. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea, son Demetri, brother Chris, sister Avra, granddaughter Larissa and her niece Alexis. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at Saint Sophia Cathedral in Los Angeles, followed by a Makaria lunch and interment at Forest Lawn in Hollywood Hills, California.
