Elias
Bikouvaris
November 15, 1955 – December 28, 2019
Elias Bikouvaris, also known as Louie, was 64 when he passed away in his home in Huntington Park on December 28, 2019. Elias was born on November 15, 1955, in Athens, Greece. At the age of 5 he made his way to the United States to live what was perceived as the "American Dream." In 1978 he met his wife, Georgia, whom he married after a week of meeting her in Greece. He brought her to the United States, where they lived for the remainder of his life. Elias and Georgia were fortunate to have been happily married for 41 years.
Elias is survived by his wife Georgia, their four children (George, Kathren, John and Mareno), their seven grandchildren (Anthony, Natalia, Dominic, Mareno Jr., Mia Lexie, Athena and Dionysis), their nieces/nephews, who are also considered their children (Luz, Marina, Jesus, Ioannis Jr., Marcus, Ioannis V., Xitlali and Emma), and their children in-law (Dwayne, Mary, Devonya and Arci).
Elias had a big heart and loved everyone; qualities he acquired from his late father, George Bikouvaris. He loved to be around people, and when he wasn't at the beach, he was always barbequing a medium rare rib-eye steak or lamb chops - his favorite food. What we have all learned from Elias was that life should be lived on your own terms, filled with great experiences, loyalty, and most importantly, with family and friends. May his memory be eternal.
Elias' services will be held at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, 10830 Downey Avenue, Downey, CA 90241. Trisagion at 7pm on Friday, January 10, 2020, and the funeral service at 10am on Saturday, January 11, 2020. He will be laid to rest at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, CA.
"With the Saints give rest, O Christ, to the soul of Your servant where there is no pain, nor sorrow, nor suffering, but life everlasting."
