Obituary

Estelle Theodora Skouras passed away in Los Angeles, California on October 17, 2013 at the age of 76. She was born October 28, 1937 in Aurora, Illinois and resided in Los Angeles. She was married to Daniel Plato Skouras on September 4, 1960, and later to Van Theodore Prineas on October 28, 1985.

Estelle Theodora Skouras attended the Juilliard School on full academic scholarship in 1956 while obtaining her Bachelor's degree in 1960 and Master's Degrees in 1961. She graduated from East Aurora High School, in Aurora, Illinois in 1955. She graduated from THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL OF MUSIC, New York City, New York with a Master of Science, Voice in May 1961 and a Bachelor of Science, Voice in May 1960. She graduated summa cum laude.

Her mother was Mary Jiavis from Bingham Canyon, Utah. Her father was Nicholas Jiavis, born in Levidi, Greece. Her children are Peter Nicholas Skouras and Constantine Dionysios Skouras. Her sisters are Connie Pentek and Victoria K. Amini.

She was preceded in death by: her father Nicholas Jiavis, her brother Steven N. Jiavis, Van T. Prineas, Daniel P. Skouras, and her mother Mary Jiavis.

Both the trisagion and funeral services will be held at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1324 S. Normandie Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90006. Trisagion on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 7 pm. Funeral at 11 am on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Makaria (Mercy Meal) following the funeral. Interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park, the Greek Orthodox Section, 3880 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California 90601.
