George Theodore Dupas was born on June 21, 1933 in Kalavryta, Greece to Theodore and Evangeline Dupas. He has one younger brother, Nicholas, who currently resides in Tripolis, Greece. Together, he and his brother grew up in the small village of Agios Nikolaos. After the war, at age eighteen, George immigrated to the United States to live with his great uncle, Sam Doupas, in Chicago.

In Chicago, George worked various jobs before getting drafted by the US Army in 1955. He served in the infantry and received training in Missouri and Arkansas. He specialized as a machinist and was sent to England and then Germany where he worked as a small arms clerk. After a year and half of service in Germany, George was given leave and toured all around Europe, including the small village he grew up in. Afterwards, he returned to Chicago and stayed in the reserves for two years while working for US Steel.

George decided to visit Los Angeles to see his cousins where he became re-acquainted with the Demopoulos family and their daughter, Katherine. A few months later, George and Katherine were engaged. They were married on June 15, 1958. He then worked for Avon as a manager and retired after 31 years. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and managing his properties.

George was a loving husband, father, and Pappou. He passed away peacefully on April 8, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; his two sons, Theodore (Vangie) and Nicholas (Rita); and his grandchildren, George, Katerina, Christina, Sam, Katherine, and George. He was a wonderful man who loved life and his family. Our love for him will live on in our memories forever.
