Harry Gallanes was born on November 22, 1929, and entered eternal life on October 26, 2018 peacefully at home with his family by his side.
Harry was a proud American Veteran having served in the Air Force as a fighter pilot during the Korean Conflict. After having served in the military, Harry began a successful career as an aerospace engineer. He was an integral part of America's Space Program from its inception. The many projects Harry worked on included the X-15 Program, Apollo Program, Skylab, and Space Shuttle. After his involvement in the Space Program, he shifted his focus and also became an integral part of the B2 Program. Through all of Harry's important work, none of it was more important than his family and his dedication to his Church.
Harry was a "numbers guy" and could remember numbers and sequences at the drop of a hat. After all, "you always bet the Ace." We are all better off for having known and loved him. We know that Harry is looking down smiling, loving, and protecting all of us. A father's work is never done.
Harry was married to his loving wife Penny Gallanes (predeceased) for 54 years. He is survived by his sons Butch (Jeanette), Michael, Christopher (Alecia), and his granddaughters Penelope, Stephanie, Kathleen, Arianna, and Alexa Gallanes. Harry is also survived by his sister Demetra Gallanes, and a large extended family. Everyone was always warmly welcomed into Harry and Penny's home. Harry's greatest joys in life were his family, USC Trojan Football, playing cards, and going to the casino.
