Obituary

Harry Chris Markos passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013 at the age of 85 at his home in Glendale, California where he lost his battle with cancer. Harry lived in Glendale, California, Queens, New York, and Sotira, Greece, the latter where he was born on August 18. 1928. Harry was the second oldest of 4 brothers.

Harry married Panagiota Gegas Markos in June of 1974.

Harry was an executive chef for the President and CEO of CBS Studios in Los Angeles, Ca. Highlights of his private chef career included cooking and serving dinner to President Ronald Reagan, Barbara Walters, producers, and directors.

Harry was a member of the AHEPA Burbank Chapter 442, and a Member of the Greek Army of Golfers.

Golf was his passion and he was known for his great short game. He was the AHEPA Regional Golf Tournament National Handicap Champion in 2005. The tournament was located in South Carolina. His home is adorned with many other photographs and trophies showing his love of the game.

Hardworking, independent, strong, straightforward, always spoke his mind and always stayed true to his beliefs. He was a man who believed that whatever you put your mind to you could accomplish. He always put other people's needs before his own and never missed an opportunity to feed someone; that is how he showed his love.

He is survived by his children Chris Harry Markos and Athina Stephanie Markos and his grandson Gregory Elias Floor and by his youngest brother Evangelos Gogas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christos Gogas and Athina Markos Gogas, his eldest brother George Gogas (Harry was the second child) and his third brother Anastasios Gogas.

The trisagion and Funeral are being held at the Saint Sophia Cathedral in 1324 S. Normandie Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90006.

The trisagion will be on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 7:30 pm and the funeral on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 10:00 am.

Interment following at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90068.
