Helen Jean Demetriou passed away quietly and peacefully after a long illness.  She is survived by her husband Tony and son James (Kathy). During her lifetime she was a very active person.  When Tony met her in 1953, she was a hostess at one of the premier restaurants in Phoenix, Arizona.  Shortly thereafter they were married and lived in the Los Angeles area when Tony's job required a move to Huntsville, Alabama where they lived for ten years, and later again a move to Asheville, North Carolina and finally Boston, Massachusetts before returning home.

While in these various locations Helen was involved in starting a janitorial service, a beauty shop and finally becoming a real estate broker in the Los Angeles area. She retired in 1990 and enjoy the balance of her life with her husband and family.  Memorial service will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 at 7 pm and the funeral on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11 am.  Both services at Saint Sophia Cathedral, 1324 S. Normandie Avenue, Los Angeles, CA.
