Helen Gross, age 88 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 29, 2018 surrounded by family and friends at her home in La Mirada. She was born in Palamar, California on December 13, 1929 to Michael and Francis (Nicholas) Hasapes. Helen grew up in the Palamar and Lynwood area and graduated from Compton High School in 1948. She was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Company where she met her husband of 68 years James (Jim) Gross. The two were married on December 31, 1950 in Yuma, Arizona.

Helen and Jim settled down in Lynwood and raised three children, Susan Marie, James Michael, and Patricia Ann Gross (Clark). She and her family then moved to La Mirada in 1971 where Helen maintained a close network of old and new friends to accent her large Greek family. Helen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend who always put others first. As a devout Greek Orthodox Christian. She loved her heritage and would do her traditional Greek dance for anyone at anytime. Helen survived cancer for over 45 years, but lost her battle with Alzheimer's. She is survived by her husband, James, children, Susan, James (Michele) Gross, sister, Georgia Soles, grand children, Kevin Clark, Kristen, Kaylee and James Gross, Carlie and Cammie Swa, Brad Heller and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her loving daughter Patricia (Gross) Clark.

The family invites those who were blessed to have her in their life to join them for a traditional Greek Orthodox funeral service at Saint John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 405 N. Dale Avenue, Anaheim, CA. Wake/Trisagion at 7pm on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Funeral service at 11am on Monday, November 5, 2018, followed by burial at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 E. Santiago Canyon Road, Orange, CA.
