Helene Kezas Ballas
January 26, 1930- November 3, 2015
Helene Kezas Ballas passed away surrounded by her loved ones on November 3, 2015. Born in Los Angeles, Helene was the daughter of Julia and Tom Kezas who emigrated from Greece in the early 1900s. Helene had an accomplished career in the cosmetic surgical field and continued her work in the industry throughout her life. Helene's Greek heritage and faith were an important aspect of her life and she participated in many church affiliated organizations including the St. Sophia Cathedral Choir, the Philoptohos Board and the Daughters of Penelope.
The true love of her life was her family: her three daughters, Michelle, Patricia and Sandra, their spouses and her nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Katherine and her brother George.
Trisagion services will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1324 South Normandie Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90006. Funeral services will be held at Saint Sophia Cathedral, November 7, 2015 at 11:30 am; Makaria will be held immediately after funeral in the church hall, internment to follow at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to: Saint Sophia Philoptohos.
Helene was loved by so many and will be missed by all who knew her.
