Janette Rose Robison Posey, 79, of Villa Park, CA, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2018. Her husband, Walter Daniel Posey, was at her bedside.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday January 6, 2019 at Chapman Funeral Home in Orange. A private burial will follow at Riverside National Veteran's Cemetery.
Janette was born on March 5, 1939, in Gentry, Missouri, to Daphne Elaine Ross Robison and John Otto Robison. When she was an infant her grandparents, Ralph and Vera Hazel Ross, traveled the Oregon Trail from Missouri to Oregon with their three daughters, Waunita, Bernetta and Janette's mother, Daphne.
On July 6th, 1958, Janette was married to Walter Daniel Posey; They were married for 60 years.
Janette's lifelong pursuit of knowledge awarded her a Masters Degree in English from California State University and a Juris Doctorate in Law from Western State University. Janette practiced family and personal injury law.
Janette had a passion for travel and the arts; her favorite city was Vienna, Austria, and she was especially fond of the theater and classical music. She enjoyed boating and being out on the water with her husband. She pursued new experiences and enrolled the entire family in ski lessons when her daughters were young, laying the foundation for many family skiing vacations. She also enjoyed reading, fine dining, wine collecting, oil painting, ballroom dancing, knitting and scrapbooking.
Janette is survived by her husband, Walter Daniel Posey; her daughter Sheree and husband Scott; her daughter Jennifer and husband Steve; grandchildren Aaron, Stephanie and Stephen; cousins Gloria, Trudy, Gordon and Gary; her nieces and nephews; and the rest of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Daphne, her father John, and her sister Jeannie.
