Jeffrey Wayne Rose returned to his Father in heaven on June 1, 2023.

Jeff was born in Palo Alto, California, on January 9, 1946, the only child of Thomas Wayne Rose and Betty Jane Jarchow. During his youth he became enamored with car racing, especially driving Volkswagens.

He would attend various colleges, but it was only after getting married, joining the United States Marine Corps and honorably serving a short stint in Vietnam that Jeff earned his bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts and a Teaching Credential from California State University, Long Beach. He would later earn a Master's Degree in Special Education from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

During his early college years he first met the love of his life, Eileen Rookhuyzen, and after a couple of years they married civilly on November 25, 1967 before being sealed for time and eternity in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 15, 1969.

Jeff was known for being incredibly handy, especially with cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed playing softball and was supportive of his children's extracurricular actives. Jeff was also active in his church, serving in various positions and being called on many times to bless the sick.

A diagnosis of multiple system atrophy cut short a career that included working for McDonald Douglas, Ford Aerospace, Alcon Surgical, Criterion Machine Works and the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos, in addition to teaching at the junior high and high school level.

After retiring in 2010 because of his diagnosis, Jeff's physical condition deteriorated, though he remained mentally active. He passed away surrounded by his wife, children, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, brother-in-law and sister-in-law.

Jeff is preceded in death by his son, Brent, and daughters Shannon and Melinda. He is survived by Eileen, daughter Rachel, sons Tim and Garret, and nine grandchildren.
