Obituary

Katherine Julias, 80, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2021 in West Hills, CA. Katherine was born as Mary Katherine Landis to George and Celia Landis on May 23, 1941 at Queen of Angels Hospital in Los Angeles, CA. She attended St. Rafael's School, St. Mary's Academy and eventually CSULB where she graduated and became an elementary school teacher in Torrance, CA. Not long after becoming a teacher, she met the love of her life, Chris Julias, at a Greek Easter Picnic. After she proposed to Chris, they were married on June 23, 1972 at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Los Angeles. They welcomed their daughter, Christina, in 1981 and son, John, in 1984. She patiently and lovingly devoted her life to her children and stayed at home to raise them.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Christina, her husband, Armando, and her granddaughters Alexandria, Sophia and Isabella; her son John and brother Theodore Landis. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Celia Landis, her husband, Chris, and many other family and friends. Her family would like to say a special thank you to Katherine's caretakers, especially Rose Vicente, who cared for her for over 8 years.
