Konstantinos Vasiliou
Kotsiovos
October 12, 1955 – July 29, 2020
Konstantinos Vasiliou Kotsiovos was born on October 12, 1955 in Louká, Greece. He was welcomed into heaven on July 29, 2020. He is survived by his wife Georgia, his children Vasileos and Theana, Christy and Perry, his grandchildren Niko and Kosta and his siblings Angeliki Karlis and Niko Kotsiovos. He was the eldest son of Vasileos and Christina Kotsiovos.
Konstantinos was born and grew up in the humble home his father built in Louká. During his younger years, his peers called him "Ο Δάσκαλος" "the teacher" because of his intellect, thirst for knowledge and love of teaching others. His favorite subjects were mathematics and science, which led him to attend the technical school for electricians. Immediately thereafter, he served in the Greek military. After his service was completed, he returned home to pursue his career as an electrician. Unfortunately, opportunities were scarce and he made the decision to immigrate to the United States at the age of 23. He not only left Greece for better economic opportunities, he left with the blessings of his parents to begin a family of his own.
In 1978 he landed in Los Angeles, California where he would begin his new life. On April 29, 1979 he married Georgia Margias, daughter of Panagiotis and Alexandra Margias. They were married in the beautifully, newly built parish, St. John's Greek Orthodox Church in Anaheim where Father George Massouris and Father James Diavatis presided. Konstantinos and Georgia had a remarkable marriage. It was truly a match made by the hands of God. From the moment they met they have been inseparable. Their dream of beginning a family of their own began on June 7, 1980 when Konstantinos and Georgia welcomed their first child, their daughter, Christina K. Kotsiovos. Three years later, on May 13, 1983 they welcomed their son Vasileos Konstantinos Kotsiovos. Konstantinos was proud and loved raising his family with his beautiful wife Georgia. He always put them first and they were his driving force in achieving all that life would offer him. He cherished and was grateful for the wonderful new life he was beginning with his wife Georgia and their children.
Konstantinos was proud to say his first job in California was working at Foodland Market, in Anaheim. After several years, he opened his first restaurant in Fullerton with his father-in-law and brother-in-law, Panagiotis and Polyvios Margias which they named Billy Boys, after his son Vasili. In 1992, Konstantinos ventured on his own and opened a second Billy Boys, in Orange, which became his strength in so many ways, he was there until the very end.
Konstantinos loved God and his family. He was a man filled with endless love, integrity, humility and built a reputation that can never be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy and friendships that can never be replicated. As one of his closest friends said, "Konstantinos was a first class gentleman." May God rest his soul and may his memory be eternal.
