Obituary

Laurie Ann Ratcliffe Rampton passed away Monday, March 9, 2020.

Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Adventurer. Doer of Hard Things, Giver of Friendship, Devourer of Books, Lover of Music, Laugher at Good Humor, Shower of Kindness, Keeper of Covenants and Unerring Example of Christ-like Love.

The fourth of six children, Laurie was born on June 7, 1969 to Ronald and Marilyn Ratcliffe. Laurie grew up in the Uintah Highlands where she and her forever friends found fun, adventure and opportunity all around them. A graduate of Weber State University in Psychology and Early Childhood Development, she brought a kindness and warmth to those she served in her career pursuits.

Laurie married her eternal companion and hand holder, Rahn Rampton, on March 22, 1994 in the Logan Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. On their one-year anniversary they were in a moving truck headed east, marking the start of an incredible series of adventures and life experiences together. As a mother, Laurie made the choice and sacrifice to put all her time and effort into supporting two of her greatest miracles: her children, Brennen and Alia.

Laurie lived in Uintah Highlands; Princeton, New Jersey; Dublin, California; Kaysville, Utah; New Albany, Ohio; and Anaheim Hills, California. An avid seeker of moments, she traveled, explored and visited any time chance or circumstance would allow.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn Ratcliffe. She leaves a legacy of love to those from whom she is temporarily separated, including her husband Rahn Rampton and children, Elder Brennen Nash Rampton (Brazil Curitiba Mission) and Alia Linn Rampton, her father, Ronald Ratcliffe, siblings Kaylynn (Jeff) Schick, Teresa (Brandt) Peterson, Michael (Lori) Ratcliffe, Heather (Todd) Johnson and Joshua (Beth) Ratcliffe.

Laurie was a friend to anyone who had the good fortune to cross her path. She loves and adores her many best friends who are scattered near and far.

Laurie's first priority was always her family. She loved to wake her kids up in the morning with kind words and gentle touches. She never missed an opportunity to tell them how much she loved them, how important they are to her and the blessing they are. Her husband Rahn was shown all the love she could give him. Laurie never missed an opportunity to give him a kiss, tell him she loved him or hold his hand in any place, under any circumstance and for as long they could.

In lieu of flowers, please hold hands with someone you love!
