Maria Callas, 89, passed peacefully in her home on Friday, November 8, 2019.

She was born November 15, 1929 in Athens, Greece to Eleni Stefanakou and Kyriakos Stefankos. She was 1 of 7 siblings. She went to both the University of Athens, majoring in Chemistry and studied Textile Design at the Athens Polytechnic. With determination and the educational background, she took control of her father's textile factory at the age of 19. In August of 1954 she was introduced to and hired Nicholas G. Callas. Together, they left Greece and came to America. They were married in New York City, New York. They soon moved to California where they began their family and successful businesses.

Mrs. Callas is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Nicholas Callas, her son George Callas, her daughter, Elene Callas-Campbell, her son-in-law Dennis Campbell, her grandchildren, Alexi Cronick, Eleni Callas, Nicolas Callas, Gavin Campbell and one great-grandchild, Ryder Cronick.

Trisagion at 7pm on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Saint John Greek Orthodox Church in Anaheim, CA. Funeral at 10am on Friday, November 15, 2019 also at Saint John Greek Orthodox Church. Private family burial at Loma Vista Memorial Park.
