MARTHA KAPERONIS,84, passed away peacefully in Long Beach. She was predeceased by her husband Paraskevas Kaperonis,her sisters Angeliki Iliopoulos,Maria Filander,Demetra Skandalakis,brothers, Dr Nicholas Skandalakis and Anastasios Skandalakis. She is survived by sons Jack and Nick, daughter-in-law,Efi, and three grand children, Paris, Dimitris and Alexis. Other survivors include a sister, Aphrodite Boosalis, many nieces, nephews and friends. Martha was born in Molaoi, Greece to Iakovos Skandalakis and Fotini Kalkandi. She was the second youngest of seven children. In high school, she was a great student and an excellent athlete. Married in 1957;she loved him and he adored her back. They raised their children mainly in Sparta. In 1979,she came to Long Beach to better support her kids.She worked for over 10 years at Garret corporation, in Torrance, where she was loved and respected. Martha was a woman of flawless character,including humility and charisma. A great cook/baker,she loved to share recipes. She also had an abundance of energy to help people in need, unconditionally. Throughout, Martha was an outstanding wife, the most wonderful mother,an amazing grand mother,a superb sister,an exceptional aunt,as well as a loving, supportive, and loyal friend. Martha inspired with her words but mainly with her actions. A hero to some, a classy grand lady to all.
