Dr. Andrew J. Manos and his family mourn the passing of their beloved and amazing wife, mother, yiayia, grammy, sister, aunt and friend, Pamela Dawn Corbin Manos.

Born August 22, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas, Pamela moved to Southern California at age seven, remaining a proud California native all her days. The daughter of a skilled machinist and a nurse/homemaker, she attended Long Beach Jordan High School, distinguishing herself in music and theater. Her loves of folk music, theater and gospel remained in her heart her whole life, touching all who knew her.

Pamela raised her two daughters, Heather and Merideth, staunchly in the Christian faith. She anchored worship services year after year, singing and playing many instruments, always teaching her daughters by example to raise voices and worship God through song.

Determined and unflappable, Pamela entered the salesforce to raise her family. She quickly distinguished herself as an exceptional and talented saleswoman, exceeding all expectations. Through her talent and hard work, Pamela saw both her daughters successfully through college, gaining friendships and loyalties that lasted a lifetime.

In the early 1990s, Pamela met the love of her life, Andrew Manos. As everyone close to them knows well, "Andy and Pam" were practically inseparable for the next three decades.  They married in 1997, and she worked in his medical office as manager and ambassador.  Throughout the years, she hosted celebrations for family, friends, and the medical education communities. She assisted and participated in the training of over 200 resident physicians, multiple medical students, medical assistants and nurse practitioners. She managed medical staff, supporting them and their families in embracing celebrations and times of sorrow. Professionally, she embraced the patients with grace and empathy. She embraced all faiths and walks of life. She was a gracious host and a wonderful cook.

She had an optimistic outlook, positive attitude and was joy filled. Pamela was so joyful and perpetually optimistic that Andrew sometimes called her "Pollyanna," and that description fit perfectly into her love of cheerful drama and theater like "Summer Magic" and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." She was also an avid reader, and especially loved vintage books and classic science fiction.

For almost 30 years, Pamela was a bright star in the Orthodox faith.  At the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary church in Long Beach, Pamela sang in the Assumption Choir and contributed to the life of the church through her generosity, kindness, thoughtfulness and inclusion. Quietly tough, she remained faithful even as her asthma and allergies to incense often made worship a challenge.

Pamela rejoiced in her role as yiayia and grammy to her six beloved grandchildren. Unwavering, positive, and forever supportive, she embraced her later role as matriarch with equal love and respect to all. Whether that love came by birth, marriage or friendship, Pamela always had room in her beautiful heart for everyone.

For Andrew, his joy, his hope, his strength. For all, a bright and perfect light.  Pamela was a faithful Christian and servant. Her love, positive outlook and compassion will live on in family, friends, and the community.

Services will be held at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, Long Beach, California. Trisagion: Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 7pm. Funeral: Monday, September 11, 2023, at 10:00am. Makaria following the funeral.
