Parrent, Paul Virgil, age 78, of Laguna Woods, California, passed away on June 26, 2013 after a short illness. He was born on February 11, 1935 at his family's home on their farm near Reese, Michigan. Paul is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn; five children - Ann, Mark, Tom, Jane, and John; and eight grandchildren.

Paul attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit, Michigan, for high school and college. He and Marilyn settled in Saginaw, Michigan, and raised their five children there. His career included data management positions at Dow Chemical Company and Bay-Arenac Intermediate School District. In 1986 Paul and Marilyn moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Paul worked for the Ypsilanti School District until his retirement in 1997. In 2006 Paul and Marilyn moved to Laguna Woods, California.

Paul made the most of his retirement. He kept up with technological advances and enjoyed sharing his knowledge by teaching others about computers. He loved gardening, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren. He was kind and generous and put others at ease with his puckish sense of humor. Paul will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. His wishes were to have a private family memorial service, which will take place later this summer.
