Peter Geissler 66, resident of Arcadia, California passed away suddenly July 18, 2016. Peter was in Manhattan on November 20, 1950 to Peter and Catherine Geissler.
As a boy he attended Saint Felicitas Catholic School and as a young man he attended Bishop Armaut High School. Both of these schools are located the Los Angeles area.
He obtained a Bachelor of Political Science degree from the University of Santa Fe, New Mexico. He continued his education and obtained a Master's Degree in History from California State University in Los Angeles. He attended one year of Law school at LaVerne University in California.
He was employed by Los Angeles County in the Public Works Department for 20 years in the capacity of a claims adjuster. For many years, Peter was a member of the Sierra Club in Los Angeles. He also was a prominent member of Toastmasters of Los Angeles and held official positions in this organization. Peter was preceded in death by his parents,. He is survived by his two close friends; James LaZansky and Ian D. Gass and many cousins. Peter was one of a kind and he will be truly missed by his friends and acquaintances. A Vigil Service will be Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 7:00pm, held at Chapman Funeral Homes Chapel, 51 East Huntington Drive. Arcadia, CA. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 10:00am held at Annunciation Catholic Church, Arcadia. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
