Obituary

Hoerning, Robert Ernest, 68, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph hospital in Orange, Ca on Friday, January 15, 2016 with his wife, Brenda Roach, at his side. He succumbed to the debilitating progression of cirrhosis of the liver. Bob was born in St. Petersburg, Fl on March 20, 1947, the second son of Herman Walter Hoerning and Mary Evelyn Cozad and spent most of his life in the mid-South(Ms, TN & Texas). He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 and, had he not been called home to his ailing father, would have made the Army his career. Bob spent the next 40 years in Telecommunications.
Bob was a devoted and loving husband to Brenda Roach for 24 years; father to 2 daughters- Mauri Hoerning Staten and family-Craig, Nathan and Mia; Lauren Hoerning Lynch and family-Russell, Hunter and Wiatt; and stepson, Paul Rideout and family Sherri, Tyler and Taylor and brother to William(Bill) Hoerning and his wife Terrie.
Bob loved NASCAR and college football, visiting the desert and camping and all things military. He met people easily and loved to socialize. He'd give the shirt off his back to anyone he met. Bob was as meticulous in organizing his man-cave as he was in maintaining his stamp collection. He retired but continued working as a security guard where his favorite assignment was the Art Institute in Santa Ana, Ca.
A celebration of life service will be held at Chapman Funeral Home in Orange on February 4, 2016 at 7 pm.
