Robert Lee Johnsen, 75, of San Gabriel, California passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017. He was born November 28, 1941 in Omaha, Nebraska to Betty and Alfred Johnsen. He graduated from Temple City High School in 1959. Bob served as a Second Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965. Robert was a distinguished police sergeant and juvenile detective for the Alhambra Police Department. After leaving the department, Bob went on to own a successful private investigation firm. Bob enjoyed volunteering at Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church with Father Efstathios Mylonas. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and hanging out with his buddies from the police force. He loved drawing, tinkering in his workshop, playing his organ, and spending time with his dogs, cats, children and grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his wife, Elaine, his daughter, Mary, his son, Michael, and his granddaughter, Sara. The celebrations of his life will be as follows:
Trisagion service at 7pm on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church located at 778 S. Rosemead Blvd, Pasadena, California. Funeral service at 10am on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church, followed by a graveside burial at Live Oak Memorial Park located at 200 E. Duarte Road, Monrovia, California. Lunch reception will be following the burial at Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church.
