SAVAS JERRY STATHATOS
1926 - 2014

Jerry was a lovely man who brought beauty to his world and his friends with his love of nature and his exquisite garden.

A native of Los Angeles , he lived over 60 years in San Marino.

Jerry was born to Dionysios and Diamanta Stathatos in 1926. With his brother Dan, they operated the Broadway Florist and Stats.

He was a Board director of Descanso Gardens , a member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral where he served in many capacities, president of Axios, and a founding supporter of Patriarch Athenagoras Orthodox Institute.

He is survived by Helen, his beloved wife of 63 years, children John (Monica), Paul (Susan), Jerre Ann Pappelis (Gus), six grandchildren;
Adrianna, Mark , Nicholas, Christopher, Eleni, Niki, his brother Dan, his nephews, Steven, Phillip, Michael, Damon.

A thoughtful and gentle man, Jerry brought an awareness and appreciation to the everlasting beauty of the garden. He will be missed by all.

Tris Agion service will be Friday at 7:30 and the funeral at 10:00 am Saturday at Saint Sophia Cathedral, 1324 So. Normandie Ave, Los Angeles.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation in Jerry's honor to St. Sophia Cathedral, 1324 So. Normandie Ave., LA 90006, or Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Canada, 91011.
