Tedde
Smith
June 7, 1944 – January 7, 2022
Tedde Smith was an amazing wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister and friend. She entered heaven to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 7, 2022 after a two year battle with breast cancer where she joined her husband Bert, the love of her life.
Tedde was born to Theodore and Lucille Pilacinski on June 7, 1944 in Los Angeles, California. After growing up in Santa Fe Springs with three of her siblings, Tedde was hired at McDonnell Douglas where she worked as a secretary for 13 years. During this time she met her soul mate, Bert, and his children Todd and Shelley, who Tedde loved as her own children. Together they had one more daughter Jamie. After giving birth, Tedde became a homemaker.
Tedde was a giver who devoted her time and energy to serving her family, friends, church and the community she lived in. Being a grandma was one of Tedde's greatest joys and it was evident to anyone who encountered her. Tedde could be found at the park, a sport practice, a school event, a hockey game, cuddled up on the couch with one of her "grandbabies" or anyplace else she could spend time with one of her grandkids. Tedde had a gift for making family and friends feel special with her ability to recognize birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions in their lives with cards and gifts. Those who knew her considered themselves blessed to have had her in their lives.
Tedde will be honored with a viewing on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 5-7pm and a funeral service on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 3:00pm at Faith Lutheran Church in San Dimas, California. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Tedde's honor to one of the many organizations that were dear to her heart: Billy Graham Evangelical Association, World Vision, Samaritan's Purse, Wounded Warrior, Tunnel to Towers and Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
