Terry Nelson
Mccann
April 21, 1950 – February 20, 2017
Terry Nelson McCann (T-dog), 66, passed away on February 20th at 3:17pm (St. Patrick's Day time). He was listening to the blues with his wife, sister, daughters, son, grandkids and friends in the comfort of his home in Yorba Linda, CA. Terry was born in Saginaw MI, on April, 21st, 1950 to Pauline and Mervin McCann. He has two older sisters, Sharon and Michelle. In the early 60's Terry and his family moved to Orange County, CA. He graduated from Western H.S. in Anaheim where he was best known for his Plymouth Roadrunner (Beep!, Beep!). Terry then chose to serve in the United States Air Force and was a Fighter Jet Crew Chief. While home on leave at the river he met Sharon (hubba! hubba!) and she ended up being the love of his life. He went on to California State University, Fullerton where he was on the water ski team and graduated with a B.A. in Fine Art. Terry and Sharon married in 1974 and settled in Yorba Linda, had three children, Elizabeth, Sarah, Zachary, and three Grandchildren, Warren, Aurora, and Quinn. During his career in the aerospace industry he helped negotiate many contracts, some of his favorites included the B-2 Bomber and the International Space Station. In 2011, Terry retired from Boeing. Terry McCann's character can only be describe in one way, unique. He was a dick. He also was funny, kind, generous, a storyteller, a cook, a registered Girl Scout, a band Dad, an artist, a writer, a poet, the best father, loving husband, sweet brother and a giving friend. He had a love for the ocean and could be found there watching his son surf or camping with family and friends. Most of his nights where spent in his favorite spot on the patio, with his family and neighborhood kids. On his patio he would listen to his extensive music collection, have a glass of wine, BBQ, educate others with random facts, and entertain them with humor and jokes. In the words of Terry McCann, "Never take yourself to seriously, no one gets out alive."
Terry McCann's interment will be held at 9:45a.m. St. Patrick's Day morning, March 17, 2017 at the Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA 92518.
