Theodore James Cocores, fell peacefully asleep to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family. Theodore was born in Los Angeles, CA and later moved to Alhambra, where he lived the remainder of his life. Theodore grew up in Elserino and attended Woodrow Wilson High School. He was on the Varsity Tennis Team. He had a paper route and worked at a market and with his parents in the family business. He served honorably in the United States Army where he was in Corsica, Italy during WWII. He met Christine P. Stasinis, the Love of his Life in 1947. They were married for almost 68 years. They married in Los Angeles at the Greek Orthodox Church. Theodore opened Ted's Liquor and Jr. Mart in 1948 and is still owned and operated by his family. He was a member of the Monterey Park Chamber of Commerce, the Monterey Park Lions club, and a member of St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church, Pasadena, St. Barbaras Greek Orthodox Church, Santa Barbara, The Montecito Country Club. He was a avid golfer nad enjoyed all sports. He was a Philanthropist, a loving and generous man. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his son, George Theodore in 1974, and just recently, his beloved wife, Christine, in Jan, 2016.
Trisagion service will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 7:00pm. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at 10:00am, both held at St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church, 788 So. Rosemead Blvd. Pasadena. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale.
