Tom Harper was born in Ermioni, Greece on January 14, 1946. At the age of 1, he came to the United States with his parents George and Eleni to chase the American Dream. In 1965 he graduated from Montebello High School. Shortly thereafter, he joined the US Army and held the rank of Staff Sergeant until he was honorably discharged in 1971. After losing his parents at a young age, he got into the restaurant industry and flourished there for the greater of 30 plus years. He was also involved most recently involved in the trucking industry. He was retired at the time of his passing on February 15, 2017.
He leaves his lovely wife Georgia, his son George and son Chris, who with his wife Stella, have three wonderful children Georgia, Athena, and Athanasia. He was predeceased by his parents, and siblings Georgia and Art.
Tom was the most generous person and never said no to anyone or anything. He would break his back to help anyone who needed it. Tom was the ultimate family man. He loved spending time with his wife and children everyday until his passing. He loved us more than one can imagine, we will greatly miss him, and he leaves us with an everlasting hole in our hearts.
Services will be held at Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church located at 778 South Rosemead Blvd., Pasadena, California 91107. The Trisagion (Wake) will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 and the funeral will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations be pledged to Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church.
