William Elmo Townsend,79, was born in Tishamingo, Oklahoma June 1, 1938 to Marvin and Etta Mae Townsend. He had three brothers and three sisters; Laquita, Raymond, Calvin, Carmen, William, Benny and Martha. On November 12, 2017, he passed away peacefully with family by his side.
William was a dedicated and hard-working Roofer for 40 years. He was married to the love of his life, Elva Lee, for 59 years and had 4 kids; Debbie(58), David(55), Jennifer(52), and Daniel(48). Years later, he was blessed with his first grandchild, Nicole(38) and Kim(36), Chris(32), April(31), Cole(24), Khia(20), and Devin(20) soon followed. His love grew with 7 great grandchildren, Kaylee(16). Julianah(12), Kalayah(10), Matthew(6), Maliyah(4), Harper(14m) and Areyah(3m).
Most days you would find him spending his time in his garden with his best friend Dixie (14) or relaxing in his chair watching Westerns. He enjoyed sitting in the back porch, telling jokes and stories. Although he didn't cook too much, he always had a pot of beans on stove waiting to be added to whatever supper was going to be.
